This amazingly beautiful icon was designed specifically for St. Tikhon of Zadonsk Monastery and honors the five saints who contributed significantly to the establishment of the oldest Orthodox Monastery in North America: St. Alexis Toth, St. Tikhon of Moscow (Founder of St. Tikhon’s Monastery), St. Raphael of Brooklyn, St. Tikhon of Zadonsk (Patron Saint), and St. Alexander Hotovitsky. Stretching over these holy saints is the iconic archway leading to St. Tikhon’s Monastery which proclaims the words of the Forerunner, St. John the Baptist, “Blessed is He Who Comes in the Name of the Lord.”
Above the arch are two glorious angels, one donned in a white robe and the other in a red robe, looking upwards to Christ, the Theotokos and St. John the Baptist.
This one of a kind icon is crafted on sturdy wood and is an excellent addition to any icon wall or icon corner.
