Beautiful orthodox Christian book
I was fortunate to be able to purchase a sample copy of this collection of prayers and Canons. The finalversion should be well received and loved. It is very nice companion volume to the DivineLiturgy and Vespers, as well as the Daily Prayer Book.
Beautiful book 10/10
I was looking forward to this publication when I first heard about it. After purchasing it, I have mixed feelings. As with all STM Press publications, the book itself is stunning and well laid out. However, lengthy canons that most working people will simply not have time to pray take up most of the book, while prayers only account for about 1/4 of the book. Some of the prayers, especially several of the morning prayers, are beautiful and will make a nice addition to one's regular prayers. But I would have liked to have seen fewer lengthy canons and more prayers that are relatively short (e.g., one page or less) and can easily be prayed. Perhaps STM Press will consider publishing such a book. As an aside, if you are considering buying the trial proof of this book, which supposedly caused the block capitals in the book to print incorrectly, the copy I purchased has legible printing, and any incorrectly printed block capitals aren't at all noticeable.
