Very nice Psalter

Love the build quality, the paper, font size and everything. The translation is awesome, especially as someone attending an OCA parish because it allows the Psalms to penetrate more deeply hearing them in a similar fashion.

My ONLY gripe is not enough ribbons. Wasn’t enough of an issue for me to put less than 5 stars but I’d love to be able to mark my place in the prayers after the Kathisma. This will be important to when doing a Vigil for one who has reposed, especially if one is inexperienced with flipping around in Liturgical texts.

Very nice psalter.

I was hoping that this translation would be in modern English, not Thee and Thou. But it is very nice.

This is beautiful!

The feel of the cover. The smell of the paper. The color and size and layout. The size of the print. The ribbon. The supplementary materials in addition to the inspired words of Holy David. The reading plans included. The words of the holy fathers concerning the Psalter. And the translation itself is just right. It reads so well. No dumbing down of the wording. No modern turns of phrase. No clumsiness. No jarring word order. Traditional. Conservative. Beautiful. This is the one that could and should become the standard for use in all Orthodox jurisdictions of America and Canada. Thank you so much to all who were involved in bringing this work to fruition. Lord, bless you

the greatest english translation of the Septuagint Psalter

I am no expert, but the English speaking world and English speaking Orthodox Christians could not ask for a better translation of the Book of Psalms (Septuagint version). The prayers before and after are translated from the Slavonic rather than the Pantocrator Codex 61 Mount Athos monastery manuscript. If you want those prayers in high quality English translation, see the holy psalter with the troparia & prayers of the cell vigil, according to the ancient use of the pantokratoros monastery by Saint Ignatius Orthodox Press (sister company Legacy Icons ISBN: 979-8-9865301-0-9 ).

Wonderful edition

I have been using this psalter now for a couple weeks and it is truly wonderful. The typesetting is easy to read, the texture and thickness of the paper is perfect, and the binding has broken in rather easily. I highly recommend it for home use. Maybe we can got a pocket edition too one day?
