I had gotten my copy just in time for this year's Nativity and Theophany. I am a young Orthodox Christian in my early 20s and up until this point I had been reading prayer in Church Slavonic due to my Russian background. In order to gain a better understanding of liturgics and what is said in services, I decided to start building my English library. This is the first book I bought. This book's build quality is very solid. The binding is top-notch. The size of the book itself is very easy to hold in one's hands during services. The text size is very comfortable to read and not small. The line spacing makes it easy to read as well. I believe what makes this particular Festal Menaion stand out is how well structured it is, and how it provides comprehensive instructions. It shows where stichera are read, where the gospel readings are done, what tones are used, and much more. Even for a beginner in formal Orthodox liturgics knowledge such as myself, this was very intuitive and easy to follow. One of my favorite things in the book are the plans for services, explanations for the feasts, and explanations of the liturgical cycle. I'm sure as I continue to read this Festal Menaion throughout the year, I will find more goodies. Nothing but praise to those who worked to make this Festal Menaion. God bless!
