Saint Nikephoros born in Greece in 1887. He suffered from leprosy and was sent to live in a leper colony at age 13. He joined the monastery of Chios in 1916 at age 24. He bore his ailment and its disfiguring effects with patience, chanting in the church and praying ceaselessly. He was given the grace to prophesy and work miracles. When he fell asleep in the Lord on January 4, 1964, his relics emitted a fragrant scent. He was glorified as a saint in 2012.
In the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020, Saint Nikephoros appeared to several people in Greece, telling them not to be afraid and assuring them of his intercession.
We offer this prayer card in order to encourage the faithful to pray for the relief and healing of all who are suffering and at risk of this disease, making the saint's assurance known to as many people as possible.
